Biography
Dr. Jevon Rice (she/her/Dr) is a clinical psychologist PsyD in the San Francisco Bay Area. Currently, she is the Black Student focus Staff Psychologist at the University of San Francisco as well as adjunct professor at St Mary's College of California. Previously, she was an intern and post-doctoral fellow at UC Berkeley Counseling and Psychological Services, psychological associate at Core Insights Psychological Group, teletherapy therapist for the state of Massachusetts, senior IOP clinician at Adcare Hospital, and a lecturer at University of Massachusetts Boston. Dr. Rice has led national and international trainings on working with emerging adult Black American clients, engaging in culture-first psychotherapy and education, substance use disorders assessment and treatment through a culture-first lens, and expanding the understanding of mental health among university students, Her research focus is on health disparities among the global majority, treatment and assessment development for substance use disorders among the emerging adult addiction population in both the US and International settings, as well as advancing the education and training of psychologist through a culture-first perspective.
