Education and Experience
Dr. Summerhayes obtained her bachelor’s degree from San Francisco State University and her doctorate in Clinical Psychology from American School of Professional Psychology.
I am a licensed clinical neuropsychologist with over 14 years experience providing comprehensive neuropsychological and diagnostic evaluations. I work with adolescents, college students, athletes, young working adults, and older adults. I also maintain a psychotherapy practice which is best described as client-centered and collaborative while incorporating mindfulness and cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectal behavior therapy skills training (DBT), and insight oriented therapy. My scope of services include helping individuals with phase of life transitions, adjusting to brain injury, relationships, substance abuse, and academic/career changes in a psychologically healthy way.
More Personal Info
I completed a 2-year post-doctoral fellowship in Neuropsychology with a concentration in the assessment and rehabilitation of adults with acquired neurologic illness, including traumatic brain injury, stroke, brain tumors, and cerebrovascular disease, and dementia. I also have extensive experience conducting evaluations for adults and adolescents with ADHD, concussions, major traumatic brain injury, as well as emotional disturbances including anxiety and depression.
