I earned my Doctorate in clinical psychology from the Wright Institute in Berkeley, California. The Wright Institute is accredited by the American Psychological Association (APA) and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). This program emphasizes the integration of social issues with clinical psychology and applying current research, theory and best practices to clinical practice. My doctoral research investigated how relationships with parents changed when openly gay men became fathers. I earned my Bachelors at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, with a double major in English Literature and Latin American Studies. This background informs my approach to psychology, as I am keenly interested in the stories we tell about ourselves and the role of culture and history in shaping our stories.
